Women empowerment has always been a top priority for Green Delta. It was not only about being associated with causes that uphold women rights rather we want to bring about a positive change in the society to make the women self-dependent and truly empowered. On this note, Green Delta Insurance Company Limited launched the first ever insurance product solely designed for women – Nibedita. It is a unique concept with an objective to provide comprehensive insurance coverage to both urban and rural women by ensuring best available insurance facilities at an affordable cost.
The main idea behind Nibedita is that women empowerment is the pre-requisite for socio-economic development of a country. Bangladesh, being a developing country with a consistent growing economy has seen a sharp rise in women being more involved in economic activities in both micro and macro levels. As a result issues such as gender equality and women empowerment, amongst others, are widely discussed. This eventually brought the concept of Nibedita to cater to the needs of women and make them more self-dependent with enhanced economic security.
Nibedita – is the first ever comprehensive insurance scheme for women, not just in Bangladesh but the entire South Asia. What makes Nibedita unique is that besides the traditional accidental coverage areas, Nibedita does cover few extended areas e.g. trauma allowance in case of rape, road bully, robbery, acid victims. The extended coverage also includes loss or damage to household goods / personal effects due to fire / lightening, riots, storm, typhoon, flood, cyclone and earthquake. It does not, however, cover pre-existing disability; death, injury or disablement arising from actions while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs and so on.
Nibedita provides a maximum coverage of BDT 10,00,000 (Ten Lac) with the minimum net premium of BDT 580 per person (inclusive of VAT) per Lac. All the women wishing to avail Nibedita are asked few basic questions regarding their lifestyles to determine and evaluate their insurability / coverage.
In order to create a one-stop service solution platform for all women with Nibedita policy, 1st Party is introducing a mobile application called “Nibedita app” designed to give women security and also enable them to access privileged services.

Through this app, besides security, women with Nibedita policy will be able to avail various services in the field of health, legal service, capacity building, lifestyle, counseling, financial service, travel service and so on.
